West End Neighborhood House is a licensed Childcare Center authorized by the Office of Childcare Licensing and offers Before Care, After Care and Virtual Learning support for children ages five to 12. Our doors open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 5:50 p.m. Our staff members have each taken the necessary classes through Delaware’s Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood and are position-qualified through Delaware’s Department of Education.
West End’s Before Care program hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and include breakfast, games, physical education and student bus stop support.
After Care program hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and include academic enrichment homework assistance, physical education, games, a light snack and monthly field trips. We partner with various organizations to offer reading, sports and recreation activities, culinary classes, music and movement, and so much more!
Camp W.E.S.T Learning Center
The Camp W.E.S.T. Learning Center is our Virtual Learning Support Program. Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during which staff assist students with logging onto their virtual classroom platforms (i.e., Google Classroom, Clever, Schoology, Zoom and others) as needed. West End’s program staff also communicate with school instructors and staff to obtain the correct credentials and inform them of any issues and concerns regarding connectivity or work that is incomplete. Most of all, program staff ensure that students are logged on according to the class schedule received from parents and caregivers. The program holds ‘Fun-Day’ Fridays as an incentive for students to decompress from the experience of hybrid or virtual learning.
In order for your child to be fully enrolled into the CAMP W.E.S.T Learning Center, the following items are required:
- Complete CAMP W.E.S.T. Learning Center Application
- Copy of most recent physical
- Copy of student’s 2022-2023 school issued schedule
- First week of fees paid in full
- Copy of the Individualized Education Plan (if applicable)
- Meeting with Childcare Coordinator

The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone
The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone is our Summer Camp Program. West End’s Summer Camp is filled with activities centered around our children having fun in the sun! Our Junior and Senior Camp Counselors are well equipped to ensure that children are engaged in a variety of summer camp activities. West End has partnered with Summer Learning Collab to close the gap around summer learning loss and includes various academic enrichment activities to keep the education wheels turning while on summer break. Our summer camp staff members are invigorating, creative, energetic, caring and passionate about working with children. Summer Camp runs from June to August of each year.
West End also works closely with various school districts to offer services during school breaks, including: School Closing Camp, Spring Break Camp, Winter Break Camp, and In-Service Day Camp when possible.

Camp W.E.S.T., ages 5-12, is filled with the perfect blend of Education, Sports and Fun! Programming is focused around: Nature, the Arts, Technology, and Sports and Recreation. Activities enable campers to develop and apply problem-solving skills, gain exposure to the arts, build teamwork skills, create friendships, practice using technology, experience the natural world, and so much more. Our team of dedicated and well-trained professionals works year-round to ensure that our camp programs are fresh, creative and exciting.
THE CAMP W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone Enrollment Policies:
- The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone Tuition is $140.00 per week (Drop-in daily fee is $35.00 per day)
- The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m.
- After 5:30 p.m. a late fee of $1 per minute will be assessed. Late payment fees must be paid along with The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone tuition.
- The Camp W.E.S.T. Fun-Zone tuition is non-refundable.
- No refunds or reduction in the tuition will be made for late arrival, early departure, vacations, illness, or injury. NO EXCEPTIONS.
